The Pictures of Busy People
Following its successful presentation at the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Yerevan from February 19–21, Portraits of Busy People expanded into a larger exhibition at Latitude Art Space, allowing for a broader selection of Romeo Melikyan’s works to be presented. The exhibition opened on March 5, accompanied by a screening of the short documentary film Romeo, offering visitors a closer look at the artist’s creative journey and practice.
The exhibition brings together a diverse body of work, including collages, installations, sculptures, and paintings. The works explore the rhythms, contradictions, and psychological landscape of contemporary urban life. Through fragmented imagery and layered compositions, Melikyan reflects on themes of busyness, isolation, indifference, conflict, and the relentless pace of modern society. His works invite viewers to consider the human condition within increasingly industrialized and emotionally disconnected environments.
